"Most" pageant directors are just in it for the money or for there own child to win (my opion) and experience....If you don't have a lot of money, I mean a lot of money you might as well forget getting any back. It is worst then gambling...it is so addicting. Once you get a dress & you have your make-up done, dress on your ready for stage its not enought unless you spend a min of $3000.00 that doesn't even includ the pageant directors fees. Did you watch the Movie about SWAN from FL? Her mom had to work 2 jobs plus. She did win, however never got the amount of money spent back. There will always been just one girl in a million that will ever get discovered for more print ads, modeling or commercials. Best Wishes to you.

First of all, I am a veteran to pageants (11 years), Swans mother did not die 2 months afterward, I think it was filmed in 99 or so and Robin died in 2004 if I am not mistaken, I know it has been recent and it was not from lung cancer it was from a heart attack.

I watched the swain years ago and her mother worked so hard to place her in position. Then her mom passed away. It was so sad.

Her mom was a freak! That poor child was treated like a soldier and a ticket out of the trailer park. I am sorry for Swan her mother died but, I found that whole show sad and disturbing. If you don't then you must be that type of mother yourself. The way she screamed at her and forced her to practice day & night. Paren'ts please wake up and see that pageants are just a hobby. Don't take away your child's life and childhood for a hobby that you put WAY to much money & time into. Don't send the wrong message to your child and ruin them for life. There is more to life than BEAUTY. Please let your children know that they are beautiful without the fake hair, Fake eyelashes, touched up photos, $2,000.00 dresses and lessons after lessons on how to make a judge like you. That is a big burden for a child to carry I hope they know Mommy & Daddy love them just as they are.

Place her in her position!!!!! LMAO!! What is she a freaking Race Car.... That is so sad, we are speaking about children right? My child has a wonderful 1st place POSITION...in our life regardless of where she places in a fly by beauty pageant.

I don't know of many children discovered thru pageantry! In Fact most agents despise the typical pageant child as they are very fake and UNnatural. If you were smart and wanted your child to be acting or modelinmg in the REAL world NOT the pageant fantasy land of freaks, then spend your time and ALOT less money sending natural pictures to agents who may be interested in your child. Out of the thousands of cookie cutter pageant kids I only know a few who ever made it and honestly even they are embarressed to admit they ever participated in these types of Sideshows. Good Luck
