Subject: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

Now that I have my dad's rifles, I have quite a choice of guns for the deer season about to open here in Wisconsin.

I could take the trusty .243 Gamemaster which has brought home for me a dozen deer over the years. I have some reloads I want to try on deer hide.

But then I could use the 30-40 Krag I took a deer with last year. That was Grandpa's gun. Killed five deer with that one day, and the game warden had words for Grandpa. Must have been buck fever coupled with that slick action...

Then there is the Browning A Bolt Medalian in .284 Dad willed to me. Shoots straight but is punishing on the shoulder. Maybe more bullet than I need, and the rifle is too pretty to take through rough stuff.

How about the .308 semi auto? That one goes to my brother, so I shouldn't risk scratching it up or anything. I do have a box of cartridges for it though...

Ahhhh, the 7x57! What a sweet shooter that bolt rifle is with that little ole peep sight. Trouble is, after having fun with it on the range, I have only 2 cartridges left! Would have to make them count.

Then there is the smokepole. Have yet to take a deer with it. But the same can be said about the Blackhawk, so I am itching to get to the woods with each of those and see what can be done.
