my barrel horse DJ gets very excited when i start cinching up the *latigo(*is that the correct term?) anyway, she starts prancing around and sometimes rears! laurin, you'vee seen this and you know what i mean.

last time i went over, she only pranced, but i was bribing her with a treat and my sis was holding the leadrope.

this is dangerous and annoying to me, whoever's holding her, and my little brothers who sometimes come over to the farm. HELP! any suggestions?

shes just a tad bit thick-minded...you know what i mean.
its her way or the highway
and i've tried it before, so has laurin, so i'll just keep going with it though, cuz i think if i can get it through to her,(lol) then it'll work, and she'll be great.
if not, then i'll just say...(all barrel horses are crazy...all barrel horses are crazy...) for a little reassurance! lol
any other ideas!!!!!!???????!!!!! MUCH NEEDED!

mabye u are not being strong enough with her. I agree with sarah. You need to take controll and sayI dont want to travel on your highway I want on mine. SHE CANT TAKE CONTROLL OF YOU! and that is exactly what she is doing. alot of barrel horses are calm except when going into the ring before the event. trust me i would know because of getting training and working with barrela nd gaming horses. Take controll. If she rears up pull her down hard and say NO!
