Subject: I am NOT happy !!!!

Hi everyone,

Well I am not happy. I have fallen into the trap of weighing myself too often. I weigh in on a sunday morning, and then by about wednesday or thursday i jump on the scales to "see how i am going". it is doing my head in and i need to stop.

I got on the scales this morning and it has gone up to 78.6kg. I was 78kg on sunday morning and also on tuesday morning at the docs (i had to weigh there, which was okay).

This week I haven't been all that well though. I have a virus (reason i was at the docs) which goes for about three weeks. I might be into week 2 of it. It makes me really tired and i feel ill all the time. I have been making sure I keep eating but I haven't had the engergy to make it to the gym all week. I am most definitely going tonight though and tomorrow morning!!!!!!

One good thing is though, I am going to RUMBA on saturday and it has previously been said that you can't take food with you and you have to eat what they have their (fried crap in other words). But I got an email yesterday saying you can now take in food and non alcoholic drinks.

So i will be taking plenty of low point food to eat. I was going to allow myself a treat of some sort when I was there, but I am not sure about that.

So, I am on 20 points at the moment, i think i might have about 15 points today (low GI foods will stop me feeling hungry) and then i will go to the gym tonight (when I get back from getting my nails done!!) and then back to the gym early tomorrow before RUMBA, and a low point day for RUMBA.

Fingers crossed big time for sunday weigh in.

Any thoughts guys???

Hi Skylar,

Weighing more than once a week can be rather destructive. As your weight fluctuates day to day, it can be very disheartening if you jump on mid-week and find you have gained a little, or not lost anything. All I can suggest there is that you make a real effort not to get on the scales more than once a week. Make a set time for your weigh in (eg: Monday morning before breakfast), and dont allow yourself to weigh at any other time.

Keep your chin up, keep counting your points and you will get there.

Wendy :)

PS: I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous youre going to Rumba!!! Have a great time!!!

Back away from the scales and no-one will get hurt.

Can you try to cover them with a towel or something so you don't see them or, put them in a cupboard - out of sight, out of mind. If they are battery operated, you could take the batteries out after your weigh in - you will then have to go to a bit of effort to get on them in between your official weigh ins.

When I first got my scales, I was on them all the time - kinda like playing with a new toy. Now I get on them less often, perhaps once a week in addition to weighing in a weight watchers, and it is much better for my head. The scales are like food - everything in moderation.

Best wishes
Nella
