Yeah I remeber the drug store on Brown and Lackland. Used to buy candy there. We were never brave enough to leave for lunch though. I don't remember a female principal. We had a guy head principal whose name I can't remember and the assistant principal was a Mr. Bernstien or something like that. What year did you graduate? My class was like the last one to go through 6th grade at the elementary school before they shifted 6th grade to Ritenour Middle. That was kinda cool because we started middle school in the 7th grade along w/ the 6th graders so we were never the youngest at Ritenour Middle.
I can't believe you didn't get along w/ Miss. Majors either! Me and her used to go round and round. She used to threaten to "take me down a few notches". We called her Miss Pantyhose because she was so large that her legs would rub together when she walked and make this swooshing sound. At least you could always hear her coming!
You must have went to Ritenour Middle also. We had some fun times there. I don't know how the teacher dealt with all us crazy adolescent boys hitting puberty and acting out. I remember how we used to gather in the boys bathroom after lunch then turn out the light and just beat the crap out of each other. We would plan in advance on who we would jump that day and just pummel them. No one ever got hurt, just stupid pre-teen highjinks. Ahhh good times!
