First, Bill Belichick disputed that his players broke a rule by pushing each other on an overtime field-goal attempt in the New England Patriots' loss to the New York Jets.

Then he admitted he was wrong.

Now, Belichick is accusing the Jets of using the tactic.

"Well, I mean, since they were using the play themselves," Belichick said in a conference call Tuesday when asked about the Jets telling refs to watch the push play, per Newsday. "I don't even know about all that. But basically we're just moving on here.''

Two wrongs don't make a right, Bill.

Belichick would like to move on, but his most recent comments won't let it lie.

"There was no film or footage of that to prove we did that,'' Jets linebacker Quinton Coples said to Newsday after being told of Belichick's comments.

On the game-tying, 44-yard Stephen Gostkowski field goal near the end of regulation, it appears that Coples put his arm on teammate Muhammad Wilkerson, which might be the play Belichick was citing.

After watching the play on Game Rewind several times, the contact doesn't appear to have the same gusto as on the play the Patriots broke the rule, suggesting it was more incidental contact.

Respected reporter Greg Bedard of TheMMQB.com, who has a multitude more years experience than us looking at these things, came to the same conclusion.

At the end of the day, no amount of finger-pointing will change one fact: The Jets got the W.

"We beat the Patriots,'' Coples said. "We move forward. They can say whatever. We won. We beat them. We won't see them no more this regular season. We're moving forward as far as Cincinnati.''
