Subject: Action movies needing a do-over - or just a refresh

Keeping with Hollywood's loss of originality and their penchant for grabbing movies from the recycle bin...

Spawn
-Michael Jai White doesn't have an acting bone in his body and the choice to cast him was shit. John Leguizamo annoyed the fuck out of me in this flick as well.

Willow
-Lord of the Rings before there was a Lord of the Rings. There's nothing wrong with it - but my handle/moniker in video games, and sometimes even email addresses before settling on gmail was "Mad-Martigan" since about 1998. That should give you an idea why. My assumption to not remake this gem probably has a lot to do with LOR taking over the medieval + midget niche and those not familiar with Willow would probably call it a LOR ripoff.

The Count of Monte Christo
-Was already re-done 2002, but it's a timeless tale of revenge that deserves multiple directors' take on it every 10yrs.

Darkman
-Apart from Liam Nesson and Frances McDorman, the film, like Spawn, was chock full of bad 'B-movie' actors.

Virtuosity
-The gigantic leap in technology and virtual reality we've made over the past 20years should give the directory a lot to play with.

The Lawnmower Man
-See Virtuosity

Flash Gordon
-Never seen the original and every times I come close to renting it, I take a look at the costumes they're wearing on the cover and say to myself "I'll just wait for the remake".

Dune
-Because I liked the book and abhorred the movie.

The Leasgue of Gentlemen (1960)
-Not to be confused with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (though, that could use a remake too, considering the original was kinda shit)

Bladerunner
-Honestly, I don't want them to remake this. I still watch the original at least once every couple of years. And I shudder to think of who they'd cast to play the lead (probably whoever is popular that year). I guess I'm just curious.
