Gotta love a country who bombs your ass...then drops food and medicine as well. So proud to be an American today....
How are you all feeling?

Agreeing...Love this Country..!!!
Feeling it's only the beginning of a well formulated plan in the war against terrorism. The only time osama will feel "true peace"..is when he and his network of madmen are six feet under.
Who's he kidding?
Fear in AMERICA? Kiss my grits.
Roll America, Roll!
Yet, on another note, a bittersweet sadness does prevail within me for the loss of life, and a genuine concern for the ppl I know, who are enlisting.

war is perhaps the ugliest part of the human experience. it is a time that tries men's souls. the loss of life due to any action is unthinkable, and yet sometimes very necessary. we have been attacked by a malignant force, and our very way of life has been threatened, and thus we are forced to retaliate in a campaign that will last anywhere from weeks to years. no, i am not a fan of war, and would forever chose diplomacy over physical force. however the time comes when diplomacy is no longer an option, and we have reached that point.
i respect and fully support president Bush's desision to take us into action. our enemies were given every opportunity to avoid this war by complying to our demands. and in return they showed that they have nothing that may redeem themselves. i would also like to give thanks to Great Britain, Australia, and our neighbors to the north for giving their full support to our endevour, as would i like to acknowledge the many countries around the world who have given their support to us as well as recognizing our justification in this.
though we stand at the forefront as a leader in the events to come, this is by no means a strictly american campaign, this is a world effort to remove the threat of terrorism for generations to come. we are just, and we are right... this is not a police action, and it will not be another vietnam. our own safety and beliefs have been threatened, and that is what we fight for now.
so as we move forward into this new mellinium, and face the ever present threat of action within our own borders, we must remember what it is we are fighting for, we must remember that that banner, those colors that we wave so proudly above our heads, represents much more than just our country. it represents freedom, it represents natural, god-given human rights, it represents duty, honor, and our inherent nature to fight for and defend our own rights and the rights of others to prosper and live life to its fullest.
now is the time that we must stand up, not as one nation, but as one world, and shout out to the heavens in one voice that we will not be controlled, we will show no fear, and no one can take away our freedom.

I'm proud that Britain is with you on this, we seem to be the only ally with enough bollocks to help out here. Just hope we can punish the bastards and destroy their means to attack us, without sparking off WWIII or a holy war of Islam vs the rest. Although we'd still whup their sorry arses, I hope it won't come to that.
You got room for a 51st state? lol.

LMAO! You sure there's enough rock?
"Never, in the field of human conflict, has so much been owed, by so many, to so few."
I hope we can say this when we have Islam on its knees hehe.

Now, now boys...play nice...geez, I can just see you all now lining up your little toy tanks and soldiers....
Let me remind you all that this is NOT a war against Islam...not a "holy war" or "jihad" at all....it's against terrorism. The media can call them religious "fanatics" or "zealots" all they want....I think they're just NUTS who resort to this sort of thing for thrills since they can't have wild, uninhibited sexual adventures. Nothing so dangerous as a pent-up, frustrated male...why not just kill themselves in the name of Allah and then have 72 virgins awaiting them?

I agree Leggy, it cannot be allowed to become a Holy War as this is the elephant trap Bin Laden has set. And we would appear to be walking into it. There already mass protests in the streets of Pakistan, and although the Pakistani government does not condone these protests, it's the first sign of Islamic unrest in previously mutual countries.
And the Taleban have stated they will "forcefully resist" the US-led military campaign against them and not hand over Bin Laden. This is a declaration of war.
I just wonder whether the rest of the Islamic world allow their religion to cloud their judgement and sense of reason. Maybe the problem is that their judgement and sense of reason is just different from ours.
They will try and turn this into a holy war, I believe this has been the plan all along.
From BBC:
UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has used an interview with an Arabic satellite television station to rebut claims by Osama Bin Laden that the US-led action was aimed at the Islamic world.
Mr Blair, who recorded the interview ahead of a meeting of the newly created war cabinet and an emergency recall of Parliament on Monday afternoon, told the Arab world that this is not a war against Muslims, but against terrorists.
The interview was with the Qatar-based Al Jazeera television channel, which broadcast a video statement by Osama bin Laden in which he appeared to threaten the United States.

Might I just say, Mike...that I think your Tony Blair really "kicks ass"....I like him immensely.
And actually Pakistan was NOT neutral....they were the only country in the world which recognized the Taliban as Afghanistan's ruling party. So to get their government on "our side" was definitely a feather in our cap....a coup masterminded by the "BB's"...Bush and Blair.
There will be some, of course, who will side with bin Laden and attempt to turn this into a "jihad"...but I think that the BB's constant reassurances against this will go a long way in helping.

Thanks for that Leggy, I just assumed that England and Pakistan have always had good relations, due to the amount of Pakistanis in this country. I really should do more research before posting lol.
I have to admit that Tony has performed well, as has Dubya. War does indeed bring out the best in leaders and as much as I disliked them both before this, I don't think the opposition, in this country anyway, would have come out smelling half as good.
