Subject: a second opinion, ...traffic and old habbits

I've heard a lot of hum-ho about the new recording and I have something to say. Chew on this:

There were a lot of complaints that the vocals were drowned out by the guitars on "Crooked Things". Well what did you expect the band to do? They turned down the instruments and cranked the vocals on Traffic. Was it in good taste? Yes. Was it professional? Maybe not as much as it would have been if they were backed by RCA or Sony Records. Candid has been putting out their music independantly for four years now and thats well above average for any band. There is no lucrative pay-off for that type of work. Hopefully they will get noticed by a respectable label and be able to give you some of that high quality studio sound that you are all craving. I dig the new album and so should you. All of Candid's albums are raw, down to the nitty-gritty, and it's more than you should be asking for. Thats my $0.02.
