Subject: Christine Ephraums VanDorn

I am the oldest daughter of Christine Ephraums VanDorn, class of 57. For many years, I have loved looking at mom’s old yearbook from Central HS. I just found this site and wanted to update you. She is now living in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I have passed along the info to this website so that she can veiw it when she gets a chance. She's pleased to know this is here.

I don’t know how many of your classmates would remember her. She, along with my grandparents and siblings had only been in the States a few short years prior to your Sr. year, having relocated from Sri Lanka, then known as Ceylon.

Mom married my dad, Home VanDorn Jr., in Springfield November of 1959. I was born a year later in 1960 at St. Johns, Springfield, in November, the oldest of 3 kids. Mom and dad divorced many years ago. Mom never re-married. When I was not quite a year old, my parents and her family moved to Kansas City, Mo. Then, in 1969, me, my parents and siblings moved to Coffeyville, Ks. Mom moved to Bartlesville about 4 years ago as I have been living there since 2001.

Basic info: 3 children, Me, my brother Mike (living in Greenville, SC) and our sister Kathy (residing in Wichita, Ks).
7 grandchildren, the oldest at 30 and the youngest, (my youngest son) at 15.
4 great-grandchildren, one of whom died in 2007.

I am so glad to have found this site. For me, it feels like getting to know her classmates and a part of her history before me.

I know the reunion is coming up this weekend and wishing everyone a great time. I know how wonderful it is to get together with those we grew up with!
