That's up to you folks. The boards are independent, so you CAN catch up. It's all how YOU FOLKS make the storyline progress. Say you release the news that Spike has been killed (I.e. right before the show starts) yet he is later rumored to be a bounty hunter on some fishing ship.

Then as time goes by you release more "Hints to the current timeline" based on the show. Say a prision ship shows up in the news as having had a prisioner riot. The gate robberies. Etc. Your call!

Isn't this the fun of it all?! So go ahead, progress time. :)
