Nick and Mirino walk home slowly from the restaurant. Nick looks down at his watch "hm.. 12:30 you need to get home"
He looks over at Mirino and her eyes are half open and she almost falls over
She yawns and wraps her arms around Nick's neck, "Keep running they are
still chasing us.." She buries her face in his chest. She yawns again but
silently this time, "I want to go home.."
"we are almost there don't worry"
He gently picks her up and walks the last few blocks to the apartment and gently stands her up in the elevator
They reach her front door and she looks at him with tired eyes
Nick leans closer toward Mirino's face, she whispers looking vunerable,
"Kiss me please..." He closes his eyes, "Shinto..." Nick opens his eyes and stops. He sighs. "Better get you to bed."
He takes her key and opens the door and very silently carries her to her room (almost making the mistake of walking into her mothers room)
He lies her down carefully pulls a blanket on her and sees her glasses on her night stand
He picks them up and holds them up to see what she would look like if she was wearing them
"they fit her just too well"
Nick smiles, and quietly leaves after leaving her key next to her glasses
He dodges past Hatcher as he rolls over and almost gets a grab of Nick's leg
"come here......"
"man they must have been drinking here"
Nick makes his way out the door and looks at his watch again
"well this was an.... odd night and who the hell is Shinto i guess it doesnt matter wouldnt work or happen or man what am i thinking, ohh well"
Nick makes his way to the street lights a cigarette and slowly walks back to the hotel pondering the evening and then realizing what he said after he showed her the stir-fry recipe
"god im stupid"
He sits down next to a trash can, and finishes his cigarette, lights another one and wonders what to do now
