She appeared like she was very lonesome, and unhappy for a number of motives. I left Everdark for the same reasons or to the same extent. I am a hybrid, but an unusual one at that. I'm necrodivine shadowess and the shadows were no where for me to live. My hide alone would not allow it, but my being was weakening in the darkness so I left to come here where my uncle is. Opal optics look back to the shadowess. How young she still was and yet how mature and bold. He speaks openly to her.~¤~ "You will find them, dear Ithil.
