Robyn has expressed my sentiments almost exactly.

It really does reflect on the quality of our current administrators that they are making an attempt to give players a say on whats going down. Thanks guys.

I too am against the 40min game concept for the simple fact that it is a different game to a 20min format. Its reassurring to see that Robyns experiences in '94 & '96 back up my own from 2000 worlds: that our game (womens that is) is immature when compared with the top teams. In addition to the need for an increase in fittness and skill level, is the need for the development of our mental toughness. I have to agree that the 40min game from where I am standing appears not to be the best national format for achieving competitiveness at an internation level in a 20min game format.

I too am concerned about the cost, both time and financial on weekly or even fortnightly home/away games. I don't think it encourages top players to foster their upandcoming players.

As a referee, I feel the 40min game would be more difficult to referee. 20mins of high level competition is certainly tiring and I think 40min would be more so. Also, I think the drawn out nature of the game would see more cards handed out as players become more fatigued and their frustration increases. There is also more time for the game to "get out of hand" this combined with tiring referees is not a good mix?

The competitions council certainly has a tough job in trying to keep everyone happy!
