After reading this I had to go look (I have the pics as well). I think you are right! There are some strange lines here and there and it's conveniently just too blurry to tell 100% (as is with all the pics). I do see some very suspicious lines in there now that I didn't notice before.

When I first got the pics, I knew nothing about photoshop. Now I play with it all the time and know basically what does what and what is possible.

Interesting. Looks like I'll be making some phone calls in the next week or 2 to find out what is really up with this.
