well, my OLD HP cr-writer plus is only a 2x2x24, and since it is like a 1st or 2nd generation burner i am able to burn pretty much anything. sometimes write-protected disks take a couple of tries so i end up makeing one coaster but it usually works the second time. you may wanna try making an IMAGE file..use Nero 5 or something or old Adaptec software if it will let you make the image file, then burn the disk from the image file...or if it is audio just use something like DBpowerAmp to "rip" the tracks off the cd, then burn them to another....maybe this helps?
