Subject: More on the fifth book

January 20, 2003
Ready to return to Hogwarts? The long-awaited fifth book in the “Harry Potter” series will appear in bookstores on June 21! Author J.K. Rowling will reunite readers with their favorite boy wizard in “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.”

Word has it that the new book is one-third longer than its 752-page predecessor, “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” but the publisher used smaller print to cut down on page-length.

If the excitement over the debut of Book 5 matches that of Book 4, eager fans will likely flock to bookstores to claim their copies the day – or even the moment – they hit the shelves. When “Goblet” came out in June of 2000, many shops held midnight parties so customers could make their purchases right away.

So far, the first four books, all of which all still on bestseller lists, have sold 80 million copies in the United States alone. Worldwide, the series has brought in about $200 million.

If you still can’t get enough of Harry, rest assured, as Rowling has announced she will write two more books to complete the series. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see what adventures Harry, Ron and Hermione will take on next!
