3rd batt./9th marines/3rd. mar. div.landed on a beach in danang on the main street we marines were literally dressed to kill in our marching pack, helmet, blouced jungle boots,
two fully packed belt clips, and a loaded clip in my weapon
with a round in the chamberwith my safety off, when they dropped the ramp down on our amphibious landing craft we were greeted by applause and laughter by the army and navy personnel sitting at tables of the bar we landed in front of drinking there beer and all the young street hookers saying ohh baby come here and let me do you quick before vc comes quick honeyand then they also laughed i guess we were some generals joke of the day that afternoon WELL I SALUTE US PROUD MARINES OF 3/9/3 CLASS OF 1965 - 1966 HOOYAH
