Subject: A Rowbotham in Army and stayed in India

I believe that my great grandfather (a Rowbotham or varied spelling thereof) was in the British Army and when his regiment left India, he stayed there and married someone local. My grandfather, still a Rowbotham, was therefore Anglo-Indian. My mother was rejected by family and friends at the age of 18, so came to the UK, but never told her children about our heritage. Indeed, I believe that she had a brother, name unknown, who eventually settled in the UK and who died in about 1968, but I believe that he had two children. I know nothing about the Indian side of the family.

Does anyone have any information about this branch of the family!!!
