Dont know if my info can help you much, I worked for Rowbotham Tankers for about 5 years
joined them as an Assistant marine Supt in Early 1969, they were located in the Minories in Londons East End, the Company Chairman was chris Rowbotham ( i dont know his wifes name)and his Cousin was a mr Richard Andrew Rowbotham, he was in charge of the Superintendents Department.
The Company was sold to an American Book Publishing Company Called Ingrams about 1971 ? who also had a large barge company in the Southern USA , and they actually pioneered articultaed tug/barge tankers in about 1973. Chris left the Company but RAR as far as I know stayed until about 1975 ""
The Commpany cjanged addresses a few times
It went to Fenchurch Street and shared offices with the c Rowbotham Insurance Company, then moved to Abbey house Farnboro , Hants in about 1973 "
I left the company in Aoril 1974.
It was sold a couple of times again after that I beleive, once to another American tanker company, and then to Pand O where it became P&O Tankships Ltd, finally in about1995/96 it was sold again to James Fisher of Barrow, where it has remained ever since.
I know of a few names of various people, but only a very superficial knowledge, as i was not in a senior management position at that time.
Good luck in your search.
