The sun peaked gently over the horizon of clouds resting dormant on the outskirts of town, not bothering to move forward into Millington. For once, they were being considerate and letting its inhabitants enjoy a perfect sun-filled day, even though the weather was exceptionally warm with the heat of the middle of May. Birds chirped merrily as they swooped through the air, carrying conversations with different wild life around them. The flower bulbs stretched their roots in the ground, peaking above the soil, desperately seeking sun. Beauty, was all around this morning but, this was a normal occurrence, for beauty is always amongst people of Millington.

However, Samantha took special note of this beauty as she woke up from a rested night of undisturbed sleeping. Her eyelids fluttering blissfully against the gently rays of sun tip toeing into her room at the ungodly Monday morning hour of ten am. But Samantha paid no heed to hour although she had just come into the house at two am. She lazily lounged in the bed, wiping caked mascara from her eyes and licking her previously ravished lips. Taking in a deep breath, Samantha could still smell Justin close to her body, as if he were curled in the bed next to her. She could still taste his lips on hers, his wine flavored tongue in her mouth.

Giggling like an excited school girl fantasizing about the school heartthrob, Samantha pulled her white sheets over her head and sighed contently against her pillows. During the course of her night, she had recalled every single solitary minute that she spent with him during that extraordinarily long date. She recalled the sporadic hand holding during the drive home from the drive in which she initiated. It was sweet of him to restrain himself. To take her comfort under extreme consideration before making any move. But in the end, it drove her to the point where she was actually craving some physical attention from him. And when he gave it to her, he REALLY gave it to her.

His touch was like electricity filtering through her body. Even if he only touched her hand, she could feel him in her toes. If he touched her cheek, as he did many times that night, she felt him in her stomach. The images she conjured during those brief occurrences left her aching for more of him. If he was trying to drive her crazy…to act like forbidden candy teasing a diabetic then she’d be done for after a few more dates like the one they had. Especially the kiss at Nichole’s door.

In the back of Samantha’s mind, she honestly believed that Justin was planning all of what he was doing to her. She believed that he was slowly breaking down each of her walls. That he knew exactly how much pressure to put on her and how far to stay away from her when she wanted him close and exactly what she wanted him to say, because he had certainly wooed her by the book. Samantha had not believed any of these thoughts until their goodbye kiss.

It was nearing two am when they finally finished eating the three courses he’d made them for their extraordinarily late dinner, so after they’d finished the bottle of wine, he decided to call it a night, telling Samantha that he’d promised Nichole to have her back at a decent hour. Wordlessly, they had packed up the remainders of their picnic and taken them back to Justin’s car before walking the block and a half to Nichole’s porch where Justin had accompanied her to the door.

The night had turned out to be considerably warm despite the small breeze that traveled from the south. But for whatever reason, as she looked into Justin’s eyes under the familiarity of her best friends porch light, found her self with an odd string of cold chills running up her spine. Standing directly in front of each other, Samantha realized the height difference between wasn’t at all considerable. In fact, he was only a few inches taller than her. This made her feel a little more secure when he held her hands to his chest, allowing her to feel his heart beat. But when he pulled her to him suddenly, catching her body fluidly by putting his large hand on the small of her back, resting her chest against his, she knew that he had her.

Her eyes were cast shamefully down as she realized that without an ounce of game, he had broken her. Never had she ever let a man move this fast with her. Not in all of her years dating had there ever been this much emotional or physical connection on the first date. She was simply too old fashioned. Then again, no man she dated knew where the self-proclaimed prude kept her little button of passion. She had never allowed herself to want any man as much as she wanted him. But…every other man had expected her to be some kind of wild party girl who would drop her panties willingly after an expensive dinner. Justin had obviously handled women with class.

When he saw Samantha withdrawing from him, letting her eyes drift down to the floor, he craned his neck down until he could see directly in her line of vision. And in the instant her hazel eyes met his blue eyes that were reflecting the respect he had for her, Samantha knew that she was in an awful lot of trouble. He brought them both back up to his eye level and gently swayed them to the beat that the wind made as it swept gently through the trees, causing the leaves to make a rattling almost like a gentle tambourine.

He brought his face closer and closer until they were breathing the same breath again. He closed his eyes and rubbed her nose with his, rubbing the tip gently across her top lip before skimming up until their noses touched and their lips were at measure with each other. As if on instinct, Samantha tilted her head to the side a little and pressed her closed lips against his. A volt of white heat, heaved in her chest, causing her fingers to stretch out traumatically before resting comfortably on Justin’s proud shoulders. And this time…their boundaries had been set and they were free to move about those boundaries.

Pressing Samantha’s back gently against the door, Justin nudged her mouth open with his tongue. Once she welcomed him in, they were off again, kissing deeply and quietly, blending into the atmosphere. Samantha felt faint in his embrace, as if she would fall at any moment as he kissed her deeper and deeper. Justin must have sensed this because within a second of that thought, his arm was tighter around her waist which surged another shock though her body. This time, the next step wasn’t something that she was quite ready for with him.

“Okay…” Samantha mumbled pulling her head away from Justin’s “Wow”

He chuckled and ran his thumbs against her lips “Yeah…wow”

“Well…” she stuttered pushing Justin away gently “I’m um…ready to go upstairs, how about you?” she asked before realizing how presumptuous she sounded “I mean, I’m tired…you know…like I’m ready to go to sleep and…”

“Yeah” Justin nodded his head without bothering to rescue her from the embarrassment he knew she was going through “I’m not as much tired as I am aware of the fact that I have to go to sleep so that I can wake up tomorrow and get more work done” Samantha smiled shyly and nodded her head

“Thank you…for a wonderful time. The movies were great, the food was phenomenal…”

“The kissing was unbelievable”

“The kissing was nice. It was very, very nice” Samantha agreed wholeheartedly “We should do it again sometime. The date I mean”

“Yeah” Justin said with a wide smile “We should. How about…Wednesday afternoon?”

“Sounds good”

“How about you pick the date this time?”

“Are you sure? I’m a very adventurous person” Samantha admitted with a sarcastic glint in her tone

“I’m sure. Anywhere you want to go” Justin said taking hold of her hands again to kiss her wrists

“Well…” Samantha said with a sigh “Do you like…basketball?” Justin looked down at her suddenly wearing a confused look on his face “Okay, stupid question” she said with a laugh to which he simply nodded while kissing her arm as he gently pulled up her sleeves “How about we play a little one on one. Then we could go swimming in the lagoon. I’ve been…” Samantha moaned as he kissed the inside of her elbow “Justin?” she groaned with pleading eyes

“Sorry…” Justin said pulling her sleeve back down and giving her a good two feet of space. But he couldn’t help himself. Once he got a taste of her, he wanted more “You suggested that we go swimming in the lagoon after shooting some hoops”

“Yeah. I’ve been dying to swim in it. But I’ve been really lazy since I got here” Samantha said smiling guiltily “We could get a hot dog before we play”

“Okay. It sounds like a plan. But I have to warn you. I’m very good at basketball” Samantha smiled

“So am I. So bring your game with you to the court. Because I’m not taking any prisoners” Justin looked Samantha up and down before coming close to her again and kissing her gently on the lips with familiarity that she didn’t know she could ever have with anyone “But…if you kiss me again like that, I might make an exception just this once” he obliged, this time letting it linger for a few seconds longer

“Good night, Samantha” Justin said clearly not wanting to go home but, he smiled and acted like a gentleman by kissing her hand one last time

“Good night, Justin. Sleep well” Samantha said watching him walk away from her. And then he was gone again, this time, the nights darkness took him out of her eyeshot. Her only link to the reality that he was really just coming from seeing her, was the swishes of grass underneath his expensive shoes. Samantha stayed on the porch, in the heat, underneath the dim light until she heard the very faint sound of the door of his house closing.

Now, as Samantha lay giddy in her bed, placing the back of her hand to her lips, kissing the spots that he’d kissed, she felt vibrant. As if she could run a marathon, win the Olympic gold AND save the starving children in Africa. She felt like a woman instead of an object for the first time in so long that she couldn’t even remember feeling like a feminine woman. But now she did and it was all because of Justin and his magical kisses.

Climbing to her knees, facing her headboard, Samantha looked out of the window, squinting her eyes against the strong sun gleaming in her eyes. When her eyes finally adjusted to the light, she could make out Justin’s distinct figure on the side of his house. He was shirtless and wearing a pair of track pants while he washed a yellow and black motorcycle. He didn’t press the sponge to hard against the surface, for he didn’t want to scratch it. Justin, she could tell, was very gentle with things that belonged to him. Samantha smiled and folded her arms in the screen-less window, perfectly content with watching him wash his bike.

“You ungrateful bitch!” Nichole said bursting into Samantha’s room and bursting Samantha’s perfect daydream of her licking ice cream from Justin’s pecks “I left a note on your door that you were to wake me up and give me details!”

“But it was two in the morning” Samantha said turning back around to sit cross legged on her bed “Besides, I didn’t feel much like talking”

“So…” Nichole said practically hopping to sit on the bed “What happened? Did you swoon as he played you an acoustic version of ‘Sailing?’”

“What?” Samantha’s ears perked up as Nichole mentioned acoustic “What about an acoustic guitar?”

“He plays a few instruments. The acoustic guitar, piano and the bass. Why? Did you play them for you? God! I would just DIE!”

“No…” she sighed and smiled at her best friend “But he took me to the Mill to see an independent film called Four Rooms and a foreign film called Indochine” Nichole’s jaw went slack and dropped

“He took you to see one of the sexiest movies ever made?” Samantha grinned

“Yes, he did”

“Did you all make out like two horny teenagers before the opening credits started?”

“Nope. There was no kissing until right before dinner. There was barely any touching”

“And then?” Nichole pressed

“And then…there was just a man and a woman exploring their differences” Samantha looked off into an imaginary distance as she sat back against her headboard “We went to the lagoon behind your house” she smiled at the memory before sighing again “He looked me in my eyes, lit some candles and then he broke me down without knowing that he had”

“Oh…” Nichole sighed contently “Did he murmur sweet nothings?”

“No. He didn’t have to. The way he kissed me…” Samantha closed her eyes “He didn’t have to say a word. Anything he had to tell me, he said it in his kiss”

“Oh…” Nichole sighed again “Why doesn’t his ass have an older brother? Or at least a damn twin for me?”

“What are you talking about? He’s got four perfectly good, perfectly single friends” Samantha wrinkled her nose curiously at her friend “Right?”

“Well…He’s got four friends but only three of them are single”

“Well, there you go. He mentioned something about having a birthday party for a friend of his. He said two of his friends were coming down to help celebrate”

“Lance is in Russia doing the whole space thing and Joey is in New York rehearsing for Rent” Nichole said cringing “God, why can’t I be on Broadway?”

“Because you’re needed elsewhere” Samantha reasoned poking
Nichole’s bare freckled shoulder “Well, that leaves…”

“Chris and JC, come on Samantha, if you’re going to date the man, at least know his friends names"

“Well, Chris and JC are single. Which one of them are cuter to you?” Samantha asked absently “Oh, I know this one. You like Chris! I remember back when we lived in the dorms, you used to have a picture of him as your screen saver!”

“Samantha, don’t tell him” Nichole begged “Remember, I have to live with this man for the next twenty years…at least as long as I’m paying this mortgage”

“I’m not going to say anything. Besides, we’re just dating”

“Yeah…but I can already tell that you like him. I’ve never seen you act like this towards a guy and I’ve definitely never known you to let a guy kiss you on the first date, Prudence” Nichole joked before becoming suddenly serious “The man bought you flowers and seriously went all out for you. I think he likes you”

“I think I like him too Nichole. I really think that I like him too”

You’ve got such a pretty smile
It’s a shame the things you hide behind it
Let them go, give it up for a while
Let them free and we will both go find it

And I know…there’s nowhere you can hide it
I know the feeling of alone
I know…you do not feel invited
But come back…come back in from the cold

Justin smiled brilliantly as he strummed his acoustic guitar. The song had been brewing in his head since he woke up that morning, but like most things he did, it didn’t want to develop on his own, so he decided to wash his motorcycle before taking it out for a spin later that night. Hopefully, Samantha wouldn’t be opposed to riding his bike. Yeah, it was her turn to pick a date, but he still wanted to drive.

Although after last night, he didn’t want to piss her off and jeopardize what they already had established. Last night had gone better than he had hoped. Sure, he was hoping that they would get to talk and get to know each other a little better…but he hadn’t expected her to open up the way she did. The way she allowed herself to be open with him. He really appreciated it. Justin liked the feeling of being trusted even if he was only being with trusted with a bunch of memories, it didn’t lessen the sweetness of the feeling.

And now, he had his musicians sight back. He could see the notes and clefts of the songs he wrote appearing before him in an instant. He had spent the morning with Sonali and it only took her saying the word ‘cold’ for him to get a song idea. God, he relished in these times when music was his oyster because a window as large wouldn’t come again for a very long time. Justin took what he could get.

But when he could no longer stand the sight of music and every possible rhythm, rhyme and sound had been exhausted, Justin put away his instruments and hung out with his sister in his office. She had been spending a lot of time on the computer. At first, Justin just figured that she was corresponding with friends in England, but then the late night phone calls came and Justin knew that she must be working on something. When he asked her about it, she got nervous, stuttering through excuses for her being on the computer for more than an hour.

“Are you seeing someone online? You know…cyber sex?” Justin asked sitting on the desk in front of his sister “I know being related to me can’t be the easiest thing in the world…”

“For Christ’s sake, Justin, I’m not having cyber sex” Ali screeched. And then Justin was painfully aware of how much he didn’t know about her.

“If you were, it would be okay…I’d just like to know so that I can stop worrying about you…” he rambled, lying through his teeth.

Sex, whether through cyber space or through ordinary human contact was out of the question for his baby sister. The only way that he could come to grip with the fact that she had a boyfriend was by telling himself that Ali was saving herself for marriage. But he wasn’t sure she was.

“Do you really want to know what I’m up to all day?” she asked nervously “I’ve never told anyone about this because…well…I thought I hated you for so long”

“What are you talking about?”

“I run an *NSYNC fan fiction site, Justin” Justin’s left eyebrow raised high on his forehead skeptically “It’s true. Look…”

Justin hopped off the desk and pulled up a chair next to Ali in front of the computer while her long, thin fingers tapped away at the keyboard as if she’d done it a hundred times before. In the address box, she typed in: www.constantlyali.com , which Justin had seen in the list of bookmarks lots of times when he went online, he never thought that the web site belonged to his sister. He never knew his sister could even build a web site. But as soon as the site uploaded, Justin could see with his own eyes that his sister was a more than qualified web developer.

There was a ten second intro where Ali had worked out a way to put in a background MP3 of ‘Do Your Thing’ as the names of he and his band mates flashed on and off the screen in at least twelve different variations of muted greens and blues. When the intro was over, the screen turned a very ambient shade of red as a picture of Justin laying on a bed of red satin sheets slowly faded in to the right of the screen. Then at the top of the screen in big but inoffensive black letters, ‘Welcome to Constantly Ali, a haven of *NSYNC-ism’. Justin let his eyes drift from the welcoming message to the text a few inches to the right of his head.

19, May, 2002

Well, I’m finally out of school and I have to go home to spend the summer with my brother. I’m not really sure what to think of that except that I miss him. I’ve really been unfair to my brother over the last few years. I pretended that I couldn’t stand the sight of him for two years because of something that wasn’t really his decision. But in all honesty, I love my brother very much and I wish that he could know me now instead of the rigid bitch that he last saw during Christmas break.

I don’t know what changed me. I don’t know how I came to like my brother again. All I know is one day, I was doing some upkeep of this web site and I had the sudden urge to call and tell him about it. My brother doesn’t know anything about my writing or my web site building. And I realized it wasn’t fair for me to keep so much of myself bottled up.

When I go home to the United States to see him, I’ve promised myself that despite the fact that my brother may very well loathe the sight of me, I’m going to love him and I’m going to do anything it takes to bridge the gap between my brother and I. Even if that means showing him this web site. God, knows he would love for me to admit that I like *NSYNC (he’s a bit infatuated with them himself).

So, as you can see, due to my holiday filled with boredom and thinking about familial tribulations, I’ve found it in my heart to update The Olive Grove. Please, don’t send me any e-mail asking when the next update is going to be. If any of you know my work ethic, then you know I’ll try to update before the end of the month. But come on, it will be summer holiday soon, give me a couple of weeks. There’s plenty to do here until I update.

Yours,
Constantly Ali

Justin looked at Ali with a huge smile plastered on his face. He wanted to hug her and ask her why the hell she wrote fan fiction all at the same time. But when he saw the saw the look of absolute terror written on her face, he knew what he had to do. Without another word, he engulfed his little sister into a hug and stroked her long blond hair.

Ali sat rigid for a few seconds, not knowing what to do. Was he mad? No, surely he was crazy. No. He couldn’t be crazy. Crazy people rarely hugged people that drove them insane. No. Ali was overreacting. But what was she supposed to think? Her brother just hugged her after finding out that his sister who, supposedly hated his music and his group, owned and operated an *NSYNC web site. However, Justin wasn’t angry, she could tell that. And that’s all that mattered to her. She wrapped her arms around Justin and let her head rest against his chest.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Justin asked

“I thought you would think I was crazy”

“I do” he admitted “But, I also think this is sweet. I’m just glad you don’t hate me anymore. Why’d you call me a pompous asshole at Christmas?”

“Because you are a pompous asshole. You called me a rigid bitch during Christmas dinner and I was mad at you. I’m a teenager. What you do want from me?”

“Nothing. I just want to know that you’re on my side, Ali. And now that I’ve seen this, I know that you are” Ali smiled and started to close down her site “Can I read some of The Olive Grove?”

“Absolutely not”

She didn’t want to eat it but for some reason she felt obligated to. When she gave it a good sniff, she knew that it smelled good enough to eat but its presentation was so revolting that she didn’t want to touch it. But it had been on her kitchen counter for almost a week and she knew that sooner or later, by the way things were going between Justin and Samantha, that he’d be coming over to her house often and she didn’t want it to be there when he came, as untouched as he’d given it to them. So Nichole knew indeed, that she’d either have to throw the German chocolate cake out or eat it.

If she threw it out, she’d either have to lie and say she ate it or she’d have to tell him that the cake was so gross looking that she threw it out. But she knew that throwing it out and telling him would hurt his feelings. Nichole didn’t want to hurt Justin, he seemed to be a nice guy. But lying…Nichole had a problem with that. Sure, she was a good actress but she knew Justin would see through it. He had, after all, told the world that Digital Getdown was a song about technological advancements, which any self-respecting *NSYNC fan knew was a crock of shit.

But, he wouldn’t however, ask any questions if there were two slices gone. After all, most cooks are satisfied if at least half the meal they cooked is gone. Quickly, Nichole took a knife from the drain rack and cut two thin triangles from the cake, chopped the up into little pieces on a separate plate and dumped it down the garbage disposal. She looked to each side of her with a paranoid look in her eyes as she flipped the switch of her scapegoat, making sure no one was going to bear witness to such an occasion as the discarding of a gift from Justin Timberlake. God, if Samantha knew about this, she’d probably march over to his house, demand that he bake another cake and make Nichole eat it in front of them both.

But no one had to know. She would say that she got hungry and decided to eat it. Surely, Samantha wouldn’t question her about the whereabouts of a cake even she wasn’t prepared to eat. No. Of course not. Samantha would never rat her out. Nichole thought confidently as she watched the chocolate cake turn to mush at the bottom of her sink. No one had to know. No one would ever find out how she made ‘the blob’ disappear, only that it was gone.

“Hey” Samantha said coming into the kitchen clad in a pair of track pants and a loose tank top “What are you up to?”

“Nothing. Nothing at all” Nichole said shutting off the garbage disposal quickly “I was just washing the dishes”

“Oh” Samantha looked at the chocolate cake in front of Nichole “How was it?”

“How was what?”

“The cake, silly” Nichole wiped the sweat off the top of her lip and unknowingly added frosting that she hadn’t known was on her finger

“I didn’t eat the cake”

“Okay” Samantha smiled as she eyed the frosting “I won’t tell Justin”

“Thank you” Nichole said relieved “Off to play basketball?”

“Yup. Justin and I decided to make the date early in the evening so we wouldn’t be out as late as we were the night before last. Besides, he has to go to New York tomorrow morning to meet some colleagues” Nichole frowned

“Oh, I’m sorry Sam”

“Why? He has a life and so do I” Samantha said shrugging “He’ll be back next week”

“Are you sure you’re going to be all right?”

“Yeah” Samantha sighed “He says he has a few things to talk to me about. So, I’m going to just enjoy the time we’ve spent together”

“Don’t sound so negative. I’m sure it’s not that big a deal. You’re overreacting”

“I hope so” Samantha said bending down to tie the laces of her Nike’s “Well, I’m off. Have a good time NOT eating Justin’s cake”

Nichole looked at Samantha strangely as she walked out of the kitchen then out of the house. Could she know what she had just done? Nichole turned around and looked down at the now empty garbage disposal. Nah. Impossible. But to make sure, Nichole started some dishwater and put in a few plastic containers. No one would ever know.

“Check” Samantha said bouncing the ball to Justin “You bought your game right?”

“Damn straight” Justin assured confidently as he dribbled the ball he’d just caught “It’ll take more than you in a tank top to get me to lose my concentration”

“Ooh” she bent her knees and popped the joints in her neck “He can talk the talk…but can he walk the walk?”

“Damn straight doll” Justin checked the ball back to Samantha “Bring it”

Samantha grinned at Justin as she slowly dribbled the ball between her legs making her way towards him, as he was blocking her basket, never missing a beat. Poor Justin, Samantha thought. What he didn’t know, was that Samantha had been Varsity basketball captain three years in a row back in New Hampshire. Although her talents on the court was what got colleges to notice her, it was academics that got her a full ride so she never had to play basketball again. But that didn’t mean that she had lost her touch.

Faster and faster the air inflated ball pounded against pavement as Samantha came nearer to Justin who was guarding the basket like an overprotective mother. Swiftly and as easy as cream, Samantha tossed the ball behind her back, let it roll around her waist and faked a hook shot as she jumped, opting instead for a finger roll. When she landed on both feet, she turned around to see that she had knocked Justin down to the ground. Samantha smiled politely as she caught the ball in her hands and watched Justin get up, mumbling something about being out of shape.

“One” she said tossing the ball to him. Justin caught the ball one hand, his eyes suddenly very serious. There was no way a girl was going to beat him at his own game, in his basketball court, in his house, in his hometown. No way at all.

With Samantha guarding the hoop, Justin opted to make a three pointer from where he stood so that he wouldn’t hurt her by charging. He extended his long arms almost leisurely and snapped his wrists, sending the ball flying seven feet into the air. Seeing what he was trying to do, Samantha bent her knees low and pushed up with her toes until she caught the ball into her hands, bounced it twice before dunking it into the hoop without any further consideration.

“Whoo!” Samantha hooted triumphantly “Like buttah baby!”

And thus, the game went this way for the next half hour. Justin got a few shots in, but he had sorely underestimated Samantha’s talent. By the end of their third game, Justin was exhausted and sitting on the ground while Samantha was sweating but feeling the rush of a win.

“Ready for round four?” Justin asked standing up suddenly

“Come on, Justin” Samantha said with a condescending smile “Do you really want me to kick your ass again?”

“I was just warming up. Come on…” he wiped his brow quickly before taking off his sweat drenched shirt “Let’s go”

Samantha sucked in her breath at the sight of his glistening pecks. Involuntarily, his muscles flexed as he bounced the ball as he was making excuses as to why he lost. But she couldn’t hear any of this. All she could see was his naked chest and the crooked arrogant smile he was giving her.

“Okay…” Samantha said taking off her shirt to reveal a tasteful bathing suit top that looked more like a sports bra “My ball” If he was going to play dirty, hell, she made a living out of letting her body tempt others.

The ball dropped from Justin’s hand the moment Samantha took off her shirt. Inside, he was laughing at her audacity. He had been trying to derail her by taking off his shirt, but obviously, she knew that she had the goods on him too. Outside, his body reacted the way any man would react to a beautiful amply breasted woman taking off her shirt. Although she was wearing no make-up and her hair was up in a sloppy bun, she still looked beautiful and incredibly sexy in a tomboyish sort of way.

They stood there for several minutes staring at each other. The ball and the game had been forgotten. Their skin was glistening under the sun, the lights reflecting specs of light from their eyes. Samantha was the first to smile as she reached down to her track pants and ripped them from her body in one fluid motion, throwing them at Justin before she took off running past the hoop and out of the small gate towards Nichole’s woods. Grinning from ear to ear, Justin smiled too before kicking off his shoes and taking off after her.

She was fast, he had to give her that. Even after an exhausting three rounds of basketball, she was running as fast as she had run the first time he saw her. He had to dig his feet into his grass and pump his tight calves just to keep up with her. He’d already given up the notion of catching her.

Samantha flew past the first row of trees then past the broken branches, kicking her shoes and socks off her feet as she went. Occasionally, she looked behind her to see if Justin was keeping up. When she couldn’t see him, she would slow down until his figure became visible again past the glare of the sun. She finally got to her top speed and ran towards the pier of the lagoon, not stopping to take or catch her breath for a second. Once on the edge of the pier, Samantha stopped and put her hands on her knees to catch her breath while she waited to hear Justin’s heavy footsteps rustle past the branches to the left of her.

After about thirty seconds, Samantha didn’t hear anything. She looked around her quickly, tuning her ears to try and hear something. But she couldn’t. Furrowing her eyebrows, Samantha tried to figure out where Justin could be.

“Justin?!” Samantha called walking from the pier back on the dirt and grass “Where are you?”

When she didn’t hear anything, Samantha traced back her steps to where she last saw Justin. She remembered seeing him come into the woods. So, she walked out of the clearing and back into the thick of the woods, calling his name. Not long after she began combing into the woods, she heard a twig snap about ten feet away from her. She turned around quickly.

“Justin?” she whispered walking towards where the sound came from “Justin, is that you?”

Samantha had never thought of these woods as dangerous but now, being completely alone in them for the first time, she felt very vulnerable. Almost frightened. Leaning against a nearby willow tree, Samantha sighed as she rested her bare feet. Closing her eyes, she wondered silently where Justin could be, paranoia was starting to set in.

A hand covered her mouth suddenly, startling the living daylights out of Samantha. Instinctively, she screamed into the hand. Her eyes shot open horrifically. And as they did, she could see Justin in front of her, grinning like a Cheshire cat. She ripped Justin’s hand off her mouth and slapped him hard across his face.

“Where were you, I was worried sick!” she said ignoring Justin’s groan

“Woman!” he said holding his reddening face “That hurt! I hope that’s not how you treat all of your…” he started before Samantha cut him off with her crushing her lips on his

Immediately, Justin’s wound was forgotten. He wrapped both arms around Samantha waist and pulled her to him, smashing her chest into his bare chest. She moaned, feeling his chest heave into her as their tongues began to mingle. Grabbing a handful of hair into his hand, Justin pulled Samantha’s head back and attacked her neck. Her eyes closed painfully as she gasped for air but unable to keep any with Justin’s tongue sliding up the base of her neck.

“Beverly” Samantha breathed “Samantha Beverly Mitchell”

“What?” Justin asked looking up at her, as lost as she was

“My first, middle and last name. I never sleep with a man unless he knows my middle and last name” Justin smiled and let go of her hair

“Justin Randall Timberlake” he said “But we’re not going to have sex right now”

“We’re not?” Samantha asked nearly in outrage “It’s mean to turn on the oven if you’re not going to bake anything” he shook his head

“Haven’t you ever let a man kiss you without having it be a prelude to sex?”

“Not really. But that’s okay with me”

“Well it shouldn’t Samantha. I kiss you, not because I want to have sex with you, but because I like the way you taste. I like the way you feel on me” Justin said running his hand up the side of her waist “I kiss you because I like you”

“But Justin…” Samantha said, her eyes blurry with passion

“Okay…” Justin said kissing her quickly “Let’s say I fuck you, right here, right now”

“Uh huh…” It had a nice ring to it.

“I’ll forget that you ever existed afterwards” Samantha’s eyes focused when he said this and she looked at him with nonjudgmental eyes “I don’t associate myself with whores. I’m sorry. I like you Samantha. And I want to know that we could be more than that. Could we?” she sighed and cast her eyes down to the branch covered ground

“Yeah”

“That’s right, we could be. I got carried away just now. I’m sorry that I put you in that situation. It’ll never happen again”

“But I liked it”

“I liked it too. But I’m not ready to be intimate yet. Let me kiss you for a while…let me get a feel for you and get to know you a little better. I know you aren’t ready to be physical just yet. I can tell that’s it has been a long time” Justin said looking in Samantha’s vulnerable eyes “Let’s make the time when we make love, special”

“You like me that much?”

“I like you that much” he said nodding his head with a small smile “Can we go swimming now?” Samantha smiled and took his hand in a casual manner

“Sure…if you kiss me again”
