Sierra ran to Akira's side, her head lowered.
Forgive me for my delay, my Alpha. What can I do to help? she sat and watched the sickly doe half-submerged in the murky pond water, awaiting Akira's orders. Sierra was surprised at Elena's actions, she couldn't understand why her Beta was so eager to do things the hard way. Now a mini- standoff existed. Sierra knew that Elena was strong and that the pack could take a healthy, young deer if need be, but since it was not required, then the older doe would be a much easier target. The older deer would save the pack from exhaustion and injury.

Sierra turned to look at Keso, and smiled at him. He was growing smarter and stronger by the day. Sierra knew that soon he would be as strong as his father, and maybe someday even stronger. Sierra snapped her attention back to the hunt, and the herd of deer. She waited, poised, for Akira to make the call and give the orders.
