IC: As Freezing Death approached, Arco felt her skin prickle and her fur stand on end. A cold sensation ran down her spine. In a fit of panic she gave a yelp (that almost gave her position away to the caribou) and spun around. Arco locked eyes with Freezing Death for a second or two, but before she could realize...the truth...and remember she shook her head, almost violently and was able to calm herself down.

It was then that Arco realized what she had almost done. Flattening her ears and Tucking her bushy tail between her legs, she whined softly and gazed humbly and apologetically at her alpha. He face was twisted with anguish, fear and shame. Why was she acting this way all of a sudden? Freezing Death had done nothing to her, nothing at all...but there was something about him...that she just couldn't grasp...

Arco tried to gain her composure. The pack needed her now; she wouldn't--couldn't let them down. Forcing herself to look back at Death, she whispered. "I--I'm sorry Freeze...I don't know what came over me.." She tried to smile. "I'm sorry I didn't check on you before...It wasn't because I don't care, I just felt it was my duty at the time to
watch--to watch over the caribou..." Arco sighed and trotted closer to Freeze, till they were walking side by side. "I'm sorry about your paw...I suppose you can tell us what happened after the hunt's over and our bellies are full to the point of bursting.."

After a brief moment of hesitation, Arco did manage to smile, but her smile soon faded as she fixed her gaze upon a wounded male caribou standing at the edge of the herd. *Perfect,* she thought.
