He cries out in alarm, stepping back. Keso awakes and calls out from the willow tree. Akira turns his head and commands his son. "No, Keso, stay where you are!" Then he crouches and springs at the couger, though he is still rather weak. He would not let it hurt Elena. Especially after what she did for him. Akira leaps onto its back and bites down deep into its shoulder blades. The cat roars in pain and rage and spins its head to grab Akira. It takes hold of his leg and throws him off. Akira hits the ground with a sharp yelp of pain. But he rises again. "Elena!" he calls, limping. "We must run! Quickly!"
