I'm not a fan of thought police, either, but you should make the distinction between censorship on the net (a PUBLIC domain) and on a campus ( PRIVATE property). I've never heard of speech codes. First, someone would have to show me why they thinks it's neccesary. I'd want to make an informed decision. What precipitated the code?

I would imagine the need for speech codes came from hate crimes on campuses? After all that work on that paper, I've come to the conclusion that I don't agree with the idea.

Do you think the Internet should be viewed as a form of communication or a virtual society?

"Do you think the Internet should be viewed as a form of communication or a virtual society?"

Yes. : ) It's a means of communication for a global society. It is not a separate society anymore, but a reflection of our global person.

Good to see you back. I've been waiting. It's more than a means of communication I think.

What is your standpoint on Christianity? Besides being secular, do you classify yourself as anything? Atheist?

"What is your standpoint on Christianity?"

It's as good as any other religion. I don't see the need for any of them, myself.

" Besides being secular, do you classify yourself as anything?"

Wow. Isn't that funny how we get an impression of someone that is totally off. I thought you were like 18! Not that you sound immature in anyway, I just associated the name, the idea that you smoke, and your humor seems young. If that makes any sense at all. I assure you, it's not an insult.

in your early 20's, with long red hair in shimmering ringlets, you stand at about 5'7" and weigh in at about 120 lbs. You love to give back-rubs when you're not busy running your own computer store....please, don't correct me if I'm wrong about anything.

I'm with you on this one! Don't worry, I won't correct you! Here is a snip of my profile on AOL that describes my hobbies:

"I like to have my groomers play with my long silky locks of golden ringlets."

Ahhhh the Internet. I love my cyber identity. ;)
