~She walks in gracefully in a lovely gown. She loved dances and parties like these. She took one look at her sister, who was obviously gloomier and darker than she, waved, and walked in the other direction to mingle. She knew no one, but niether did Vivian. She figured it would be better to make some friends than to be a nobody.~

Vivian:
~She watched her sister take her leave and realized that she was all alone. She, being less social, was confined to her own self, though she was wearing a lovely gown as well. Sure, she wanted to make friends, but Lilliana was always best at that, and probably no one would ever change that. She looked around, watching all the people, thinking she was over-dressed. She probably was, but wouldn't admit it. She too went into the crowd of people her own age to mingle a bit, but she stayed away from Lilliana all the same. She wondered what their daughters would think of this. Lilliana's baby girl Julia, and her own baby girl Jessie, were the best of friends, also cousins. She wished she could have Jessie with her.~
