Yesterday i tried upgrading to 9.2.1 on my Beige G3 and did all the things you said. The IX3D stuff finally worked, but my CD-RW wouldn't anymore. Spent hours trying different configurations...no dice. then i decided to pop in my 9.1 CD and go through the same steps...it also had a selection in customize for Apple IX3D. Selected that, performed a clean install, and everything seems to be fine so far! So maybe this is an option for you roger. I'm not sure if you have to do a clean install, but it wouldn't let me do it any other way.

Also, thank you , Bill, for this page! I just bought my machine and upgraded to 9.1, then all this crazy monitor stuff started happening. If this site didn't exist I'd have given up! And if there is anything I've leared from the Apple support site is that its worth it not to give up!

Hope this is useful info,

jen
