an update: i found some tidbits at versiontracker.com, and discovered that the ixMicro ultimate rez card works perfectly in OS X.

How weird is that? Still, I can't use it in OS 9.x, which is where all my apps are. Plus the card prevents my comptuer from going to sleep.

I tried to use the Dr. Bott ADC-VGA extractor to drive two monitors, but it appears the included card on my Quicksilver 867 will only mirror the display. Useless! Gah!
