I have this same problem too, though it's not so predictable. I can get away with some windows in the second monitor such as a couple of photoshop pallettes, but i find that if i 'work' on the second monitor too much, it freezes.. this is a seriously agrivating thing. After all the additional money i spent to get the second monitor and video card. and i basicly can't use it... No clue as to what is causing it, just like you two said.
