Selneth's mood goes instantly from open and cheerful to radiating fury and suppressed anger.

"And it wouldn't even be bothering me if I hadn't taken the gem in the first place," he says, voice dangerously soft, laden with anger - directed not at Ambermoon, but at circumstances he could not control, and effects he could not reverse - "Can you tell me how to rid myself of it, or at least send it back into latency?" He pulls something out from somewhere and shoves it across the table at Ambermoon.

"Bad enough that such power came in the form it did; worse that it awakened something in me," he says to her.

As the object slides to a halt on the table, it is revealed to be a gem on a chain. The jewel, in and of itself, is not remarkable, but it is quite obviously something of power - it radiates it, giving off a visible aura. The sound in the bar seems to decrease for a moment, as though the gem is testing its surroundings, then goes back to normal.

"That," Selneth says calmly, "is the original Garnet."
