Kali and her mother walk down the street in New York City, people hurry about with bags in their hands getting gifts for Christmas. Kali and her mother, Vanessa, also hold 4 or 5 shopping bags after a gracious shopping spree, curtisie of Kali's father Mike.
Vanessa: I can't believe I found you. When I started the dress shop I noticed your name, Kali Marie MacKenzie, I knew it was you, but I never really *knew* it was you. I tried calling and the woman said you never lived there. I thought I had lost my last chance at ever finding you.
Kali: Until I order that dragon print corset from you guys! When I got the call I almost died. I thought it was a cruel joke but I guess it wasn't. So tell me, why Hot Topic and not your shop?
Vanessa: Because I like to spend your fathers money!
Kali: You're bad. So I hear they opened Carpe Noctem again. I was thinking of making an appearence tonight, maybe sing a little bit like old times.
Vanessa: You used to sing at Carpe Noctem?
Kali: Occasionally when I was like 16, with Maiden Appoclypse. Which means you were what, 29 at the time?
Vanessa: Yes and your father was 31, I can't believe we had you that young. I saw you sing a few time Kali. So this wrestling thing, it's better then singing.
Kali: I'm an icon to a lot of kids and teenagers, I get more exposure now then I would have with Maiden. It's great, the feeling of standing infront of the crowds. All of them cheering for you. It makes me heart flutter just thinking about it. The prez is good and I have a boyfriend, I think.
Vanessa: I know, I watch now that I know it's you. Hatebreed right? You are as bad as me, dating the dark mysterious types. But he seems a bit violent.
Kali: He's as gentle as a lamb with me. But lately he's changed. I love him, mom, I know I do. But I just don't think he loves me anymore
Vanessa: Well if he doesn't love you he has a brain tumor. So tell me, Honey you 2 good friends? And Brett and Showtime, what about them?
Kali: I talked to Honey and we're on ok terms. We were talking what a bird match this will be, we'll fly right through it.. 1,2,3. I've gotten a bit of arrogence with the fact I am still undefeated with a very high title in WCHW. It takes a lot of effort to keep such a high profile and a lot of working out.
Vanessa: I can imagine, and I thought dragging yards and yards of fabric was hard, you can flip 300 pounds guys with your legs! I'm impressed. I knew from the moment I saw you, you'd be a star! I wasn't wrong at all either.
Kali: I'm far from a star mom. I'm just a middle carder. See once I get the World Title, then I'll be a star.
Vanessa: So Abby is the girl who you call your sister?
Kali: Mom lets talk about this later ok, I wanted to know if you want front row seats at the PPV, first class flying. Please I would love to have you there to watch me retain my title.
Vanessa: I would like nothing more.
The women hug and the scene fades out
