is that if you travel to other states in the US especially in the central states, if they know you're from California they usually have crazy notions that we all protest like in Berkley, know gangs from Richmond or Oakland, talk like surfers, or know movie stars in Hollywood!
What's even funnier is that if you tell people from, let's say Vancouver that you're American, they already have this crazy idea from that fact alone, but adding that you're from California and from the bay area is a triple whammy. It gets pretty hilarious, but this is a great place to live, although quite pricey compared to other areas. Besides, we're not all gone, we only lose it completely *sometimes*.
