robert, you've missed some things out of the "bad but
cool in a wierd way (from the 80's)" category, for example, bananarama, transformers, ghostbusters, playschool (especially humpty), rainbow brite, erm..., carebears, mr men and little miss books, er... times tables,... and "i've flown over great yarmouth" badges.

ps i agree with all your suggestions too. apart from your deliberate removal of chesney hawkes who is in fact king of the catagory.
