Ermm, I don't think Nicky Wire is the worst bassist, its just that u don't like him. I reckon somebody like Richard Jones is probably worse than Nicky, you may not know this because u probably haven't heard many of there songs. But im sure if you listen to interiors, black garden, sleepflower, from despair to where you will be pleasently surprised.

But another thought for this, technique is not the only requiremnet of a good basis, timing is probably more important, and nicky has got that good (Note try playing a bass while wearing a tight leapard skin skirt, with the bass round your ankles and jumping around the stage like a maniac or should that be manic.
