I have to go again tonight. Driving from 5-6:45 and classroom from 7-9. Do they realize I DO have a little something called homework? lol

>RO you have my sympathy. My driver's training days are
>nightmares I'd rather not remember. My dad decided it
>would be better if I had an instructor rather than
>either of my parents.

Mine, too. The reason my mother assumed the instructor had covered every single thing about driving in one day. Riiiight. Ya know, because those other 7 weeks are just for the DMV's sake. *eye roll*

So there I am with this GIGANTIC
>woman who used to be a truck driver, in this bright
>yellow car that looks like a bannana with a "Caution:
>Driver in Training" sign on top.

My instructor's a tiny little woman. Not old, just really short, so I can barely get into the car after she's driven it. My legs're squeezed to either side of the wheel while I practice my contortionist moves to reach the handle and move the seat back. Our car's just an old white pop can that rattles and has ridiculously squeaky brakes.

I remember it was the
>kind of car with two steering wheels, and I remember
>everyone honking at me while the big trucker mama
>constantly told me what I was doing wrong.

Our car only has two brakes. No wheel on the other side. Awwwwe. :( The extra mirror drives me nuts, so she can make sure you check your mirrors, but I HATE looking up and seeing both the people in the car staring at me through the other mirror. Talk about being paranoid!

I did this
>every Tuesday and Thursday for three hours.

Give it up for the Tuesday and Thursday people! Well, I only drive on Tuesdays, but still... And WHY did my mother think signing up for the driving time right before the class was a good idea? I can't handle that many hours. lol

> I did perfectly well
>until the very end when I drove in the wrong way lane
>of the DMV parking lot...

My mom failed her test because she misinterpreted power steering where the D.E. teacher told her to let the wheel right itself, and she completely took her hands off the wheel. Failed right there. lol
