I hate being the bearer of bad news but I was reading this on the Whoser board.
Apparently WL and DCS are getting the axe. It was inevitable. I mean it was bound to happen. We should be thankful it stayed on as long as it did because, let's face it, once Survivor was put on Thursdays, it all went downhill and never stopped.
I don't know where DCS lost its way, probably after the split up Drew and Kate and then stopped with the gimmick eps. As for WL, I mean it's been preempted, moved around, there have been no new tapings in 2 years. It's over. It couldn't do much more.
After 13 seasons (UK and US) I think everyone has grown tired. Ryan has said for years he wanted to quit and be a full-time father, Colin now has plenty of acting work in Canada compared to the days when WL was his only source of income, and Wayne now and Emmy winning talkshow host (if you didn't know) probably has bigger things on his mind.
There are those on the Whoser Board yelling and crying and going on about wanting to write letters to get the show back but I gave them a reality dose whether they liked it or not. I said maybe someday Whose Line will be reborn in a new way, with new concepts and rotating cast members. Had it been a cable series it would've survived on 5 million viewers per week but that isn't enough for greedy network people.
Whose Line will always live on in reruns and we can hope that like so many shows now, it will be relased on DVD so we can have the memories forever. Goodbye Ryan, Colin, Greg, Brad, Chip, Drew and anyone unmentioned. Thank you for the memories and laughs. Good luck in your lives, wherever they may take you.
