in which I argued with a co-worker about whether DSL was available in my neighborhood. Co-worker insisted it was. I said it wasn't. Believe me after the number of times I've asked, BellSouth would call me personally to let me know the minute it arrived. I kept saying "no, they've got it in Hattiesburg, but since I'm actually at Oak Grove, it just isn't there yet."

Then, after several useless rounds of this, she said, "But I got a call from Comcast. If we can get it where I live, you must be able to get it."

Keep in mind, this conversation started with me saying, "I guess I'll get a cable modem since I can't get DSL."

I feel so stupid now.
