Sure you can play a liger with wings, but only here in the Oddballs section. You see, the game consists of sections where various species (ie horse, wolf, dragon) and sides (Light, Dark, Neutral and a few miscellaneous others) exist on their own terms. The Oddball section is where you can play absolutely anything that doesn't fit into any of those other categories.
How you play... well, you first go the the joining board of your chosen section and join your character. You do this by posting a message much as the others have done, with some key info about your character like Name, Age, Species, Gender etc. This is how your character is created, and once you have done this you're in the game. Next you can take your character to a territory, whichever one suits your fancy, and have them interact with other characters. You do this by writing out a detailed description of your character's actions, thoughts and words. I personally use just ordinary text for actions, "quotes" for words and italics for thoughts, generally, but some people use *these* for actions and ordinary text for words. Almost always, at least on this RPG, we use the third person singular present tense, ie he walks in, not I walked in or I walk in. Some people use the past tense but the present is more common, and use of the first person is very rare.
Mind if I give you just one warning/hint? Keep yourself separate from your character in a sense. You see, if a character insults your character that doesn't mean that his or her player has anything against you. Your character has thoughts and feelings of his or her own, and although he/she is by definition a part of you since you created him/her, things that he/she does or says needn't reflect your viewpoint. For instance, your character could be racist while you're not, or adore spaghetti which you hate. Obviously those examples don't apply for a liger with wings, but perhaps you get my point? We use the term OOC to refer to 'out of character' things, ie things that we as players do or say. IC means in character, IRL means in real life.
Well, I hope I've provided you with something to go on. cloudwaterrain@yahoo.com is my email address and I'm Skig Pabnl on AIM if you need any more help. :-} Have fun RPing; this place is great!
