But generally here's the scoop. Ask for clearification if this doesn't answer your question.
XP: Generally, this will be a low exp campaign, meaning that, if you are focused on leveling, you'll be very disappointed. I have things planned out to about the 5th or 6th level of advancement, but it will be a slow process. Honestly, I've never run a campaign that got much past 10th level (not for trying though) so we'll just have to see how things go. (In the olden days, a 10th level character was pretty much on the verge of retirement because they were just getting too powerful; the first edition Red Dragon had only 9-11 hit dice [levels].)
Treasure: I think we all pretty much agreed that "treasure" would be a fairly rare find. Oh sure, you'll get plenty of gold (to be tithed and taxed, of course!) but I don't expect that most PCs will posses more than a couple perminant magic items during the whole campaign. Scrolls, potions, and other charged items might be a bit more common, so you'll have to use some forethought in using them. As for the really l33t magic items (+5 talking with 10th level wizard abilities vorpal swords, Sauron's Ring, things like that), those will be extremely plot-dependent. Right now, we have nothing like that planned as part of the campaign. Doesn't mean we won't put something like that in the game though. AND, even if we did, you'd have to defeat the weilder before your character could claim it!
Fighting/RP: There's gonna be opportunities to fight, but primarily this will be a thinking man's campaign. When to use force will be more important then how and by what means. Remember, this is NOT UO and going around picking fights will get your character a good long prison sentence at the very least, at worst, you'll become a expert at creating level one characters. *grins*
This week I want to write up some kind of guild-line for what players can do to help me and the other DMs. I've pretty much got the physical locations of Duath mapped out and most, if not all, of the major NPCs created. But if you have a specific suggestion, it's not too late to let me know.
