that there were like 6 or 8 different speeds from stationary to "DM fast". So, it will depend on the creature I suppose more than anything. I could have little goblins or a big bad dragon that could run circles around you or I could create some kind of plant monster that couldn't move at all. Pets and familiars would also depend on the creature and the DM's pre-settings when he created it. (A very cool feature if you ask me!)

I think as far as PvP is concerned, everyone moves the same speed. I think they've even gotten rid of the monk's ability to move faster as higher levels as well.
