first off, it sucks that we the players have to find this out ourselves...anyway here it goes:

***Size***
This are the size formats for the character portrait:
Picture size - filename postfix - Canvas Size
256 x 512 - h - 256 x 400
128 x 256 - l - 128 x 200
64 x 128 - m - 64 x 100
32 x 64 - s - 32 x 50
16 x 32 - t - 16 x 25

What does that mean?
Picture size is the size of the overall picture.
Canvas size is the size of the area you can put graphics in. This area starts from the top of the picture. Whatever you draw below the canvas size will get cut off.
e.g. the top 400 pixels of the large portrait will show, the bottom 112 won't. So you don't need to draw there.

***File Format***
All files should be saved as TGA 24 bit.
I saved them uncompressed. I didn't try saving them RLE compressed - it might work as well.

***File Names***
naming convention: a postfix character tells NWN which file is which. here are some example names:
po_floria_h.tga
po_floria_l.tga
po_floria_m.tga
po_floria_s.tga
po_floria_t.tga
the files should be put in NWN's portrait folder

***Portraits and Multiplayer***
You NEED to share your portraits with your fellow players. Otherwise they won't see your portrait but a random NWN portrait. So if you drew pamela anderson and didn't share the file, your other players might see a portrait of some mountain gnome instead ;)
I suggest Bala makes some sort of download area where we can share our portrait packages.

***other notes***
This is not confirmed yet: You can just save the same big picture five times with the different postfixes and the game will automatically resize it.

You NEED to have 5 files. With less files you might see a while blank portrait instead at certain points in the game.
