I've been thinking of upgrading and if I do, I'll have an 800 T-bird and 384 of 133 RAM that I can donate. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't want the motherboard (the printer port is burned out and from some odd jumper setting that I can't find, it overvolts the AGP slot so that I have to wire a case fan over the video card to keep it from overheating :P)
Anyway, if you could get a compatable motherboard and a heatsink that will go on it (one of the clips on this one is cracked and I'm pretty sure it will snap when I go to remove the chip) then we'll have a new system for him to try. The bright side is, if it still doesn't work, then we can assume it's either the harddrive speed or the video card, which only cost about $80 or $40 respectively. Much better than $800.
