I think, if anything, you guys just had a small misunderstanding. The level of player involvement isn't important, it's the rolepalying-to-come that is. I'm sure, once Faalor is actually working, the players will be able to contribute a decent amount. Until then, Bala would rather we not do much - and what's wrong with that? I wouldn't want people working on a world I'd envisioned for years without me even being able to see what was coming of it :).
I think sometimes we underestimate/forget just how much time, effort, and heart Bala has put into his world. He may see a certain area completely differently than you see it - and thus would rather you not bother creating something that he might, in all likelihood, end up deleting. But it is the time, effort, and heart that will eventually make Faalor so great. I hate to see you back off over something trivial like this. Faalor has always been about good roleplaying experiences in an interesting/exciting backdrop. That's all. Somehow, I doubt you had the wrong idea when it came to that :)
So please, don't leave us just yet. You care a lot about this stuff, and I don't want to see someone with your potential leave.
