Well, I've always seen holy magic as sort of miracles you were granted when you prayed for them. Ya, the gods of D&D worlds are a heck of a lot more visible/vocal than our God.

So the more devoted you are to your god, the better your chances of getting what you want. Kind of like if Mother Theresa prayed for someone's wounds to close, she'd have a *much* better chance of getting it than me.
