I suppose there's less mistrust between the Gundermen and the elves, but the villagers probably still don't completely trust any elves. They still perpetuate the elven betrayal story. The fact that the elves have left Gundar alone since the village's creation, may tend to soften the hostility. A lone elf that isn't a magic-wielding freak, might even have a good reputation in the village, if he has helped and/or been friendly over the years.

The elves probably mistrust the villagers more than the village mistrusts them. Almost all of the humans in Gundar have some degree of orcish blood in them. So, it would be natural for the elves to be extremely cautious.

I will say that this campaign will range far and wide over Faalor. If you wanted to play an elf, that's fine, but keep in mind that there are some places this campaign might lead you that elves would be greatly feared, mistrusted and down-right hated. If that's cool with you, be my guest.
