This race is something I have thought about for a long time, to do this we are all going to have to make some concessions below is something that was sent to me by a friend who has the same general idea that I have about this some will have to change their cars a little some alot but with the set of rules that follow this post everything can be bought at a reasonable cost. I have made some contacts in the last few days regarding this race and all that i have heard about it has been positive except the rules. Please read the post below then go to the rules.......before you get mad about what you may have to change on your cars remember we are trying to make an equal field for everyone at the least cost for change for all. Also remember that this race is being planned for November so there is plenty of time....I wanna thank everyone who has been responding to the message board and the e-mails I have been receiving........... keep them coming!!!!............Rick Anges





FLORIDA STREET STOCK RULE CONSOLIDATION PHILOSOPHY.

Street Stock Class Stock cars have recieved very little respect from most sanctioning bodies here in florida. The attitude have prevailed that "It's a cheap class, therefor not important". The cost of constructing and maintaining this class car can be much less that Late Model or Modified, but no less SKILL and DEDICATION. A full field of clean well prepared Street stocks is a beautiful sight to see.These are not "Junkers" or "Bombers". They are stock bodied Cars that have been meticulously prepared and modified for safe and competitive oval track racing.There is a tremendious potential for a large Fan base for these cars.
It has been impossible for most racers to run a different track due to the differences in each sanctioning body rules. We at Florida Street Stock Racing wish to overcome those problems and combine the "Best of the Best" for a series of races throughout Florida to find out who the "Best" really is !


The ideal circumstance, would be to have one set of rules that all tracks would subscribe to. We know that is not the case, nor will It ever be in the real world. If an ideal set of rules were written, Not one track would be in compliance. That means that if we want a state wide universal set of rules everyone will have to build new cars and new engines. Obviously this is not practical,or even possible. What Florida Street Stock promoters would like to see, is a co-operation between all parties involved for a series of events around the state of Florida. This will mean everyone will have to make some(perhaps temporary) changes. We have agonized over this for some time. We think we have the answer that will cause the least amount of work and cost the least amount of money for the racers.Everyone will have to make some compromises. We think the effort will be well worth It.

We want a set of rules that are easy for the competitor to understand, the tech inspector can easily interpret and are quick and easy to check. We don't like tearing engines down to check for illegal parts.This cost the competitor time and money.As you will see, There are very few reasons to pull a head using the rules attached herein.

The following set of "compromise " rules are submitted with all of tho above taken into consideration. We don't want anyone to have to build a new motor or build a new car ! These modifications are as cheap and easy as we can make them.Many of these parts are free for the asking at your favorite salvage yard.They are also reversable,so you can still be competitive at your home track. If we have eliminated your car completely, we are sorry. We really tried to include as many tracks as possible , keep the "stock" flavor and keep the playing field level.
