Subject: Fun story

One of my favorite stories was told by Sanford/Townsend Band when "Smoke From A Distant Fire" was on the chart (I think it was #25 on the way down (Sept 24. 1977?), it was how they lived on the bottle deposit of a case of bottles at a grocery store, that the store kept putting the case out on their back steps. and they kept returning them over and over.

I also like the other following stories; 1) The Kansas story about my hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, about the bar patron that drove his car through a saloon wall after a barroom brawl. (this story was told several times, first time when "Carry On Wayward Son" dropped to #14 (Apr '77?) 2) the story of how great of a speller Latimore is, but lost a bet on the word Pflem.(Mar 26, 1977?) 3) and John Valenti who kept on drumming at a gig after a barroom fight knocked a patron's head through his drum. (Nov 6, 1976)
