Subject: a "Righteous" Question

I was flipping through a Whitburn book last night and noticed an odd entry regarding the 1990 re-issue of "Unchained Melody". There were two charted versions...the original and a remake. The original peaked at 13 and was #3 in airplay. The remake peaked at 19 and was number 4 in sales. There must have been a period of time when both were on the Billboard top 40. How did the countdowns of the day handle this situation? I imagine that Shadoe had to go by the chart, but what did CT40 and Dees do? Did the remake (not heard on the radio) make their countdowns? How high did the original peak on the other shows?
