Subject: Janis Joplin

I'm sure that many of you guys are familiar with Janis Joplin. Yesterday would have been her 60th birthday. I know that she was the first female rock n roll superstar. She was probably the most dynamic female artist I have ever seen. I am a huge Janis Joplin fan, and have been for years. Over the weekend, I bought 3 books on Janis Joplin:

1. Pearl-The Obsessions and Passions of Janis Joplin.
2. Janis Joplin-Buried Alive
3. Scars Of Sweet Paradise-The Life And Times Of Janis Joplin.

I watch 2 documentaries of her yesterday to commerate her 60th birthday. In March 1971, 5 months after her death, she had a postumus No. 1 hit with "Me and Bobby McGee". I get so memorized every times I hear any of her songs. I believe that Janis is not only a pioneer in music, she is also a pionner in life. I feel that she has a presence not only in my life, but in all of our lives as well, and to me that makes this world a better place. By the way, I would love to hear if any of you guys are Janis Joplin fans. There is also a great website of Janis. It is called, www.officialjanis.com. It is an awesome website. It is THE Janis Joplin website.
