three minutes is ridiculous, HOWEVER, I have heard it used on a few CD's of the show I heard...specifically looping of part of the intro to fit the voicetrack and to hit vocal, it sounds pretty good, and in fact, i've used the technique quite successfully in some concert promos i've produced. it sounds GOOD and tight and professional, IF and ONLY IF, it's done right, and not exaggerated.
